exchange or swap their own apartment and choose an alternative destination
and time of year from over 3,700 resorts in approx 92 countries worldwide.

Once you own your timeshare apartment, you can become a member of RCI,
Dial an Exchange, UK Resort Exchange or Interval International. They can offer you a change of
destination, or time of year.
All three organisation's work in
similar ways . Below is an explanation of how RCI work. Dial an
Exchange are more flexible - offering 3 years for spacebankings,
they have lower costs and do not bother with season bandings - a week is a
week regardless of when it is. UK Resort exchange offer an
indefinite banking life and are the onlycompany that can GUARENTEE UK time
for UK time. They also offer a worldwide service and travel
arrangements.
RCI explained
Firstly deposit the use of your week with RCI who automatically credit you
with the equivalent time to use for exchange, regardless of whether
anyone takes up your week. This is called 'Spacebanking'.
The year is divided into 3 seasons, Low - Mid - High, and you exchange
like for like, as all resorts have to be high quality to be affiliated to
RCI, you then trade your apartment for an equivalent size, and if you own
mid season you choose mid or low, or if you own high season you can choose
from all 12 months of the year!
You have two years from the date you
spacebanked, to use your credit, therefore you could save up bankings to
have a two week
holiday one year. You can also let friends or family use your banking's by way of
a guest certificate.
RCI also offer additional bonus weeks, late
breaks and the new exchange packages - which offer all the benefits of a
package holiday (flights, transfers, car hire) yet still retain the luxury
accommodation of timeshare.
