A major benefit to timeshare owners are the timeshare exchange organisation's. Timeshare owners can
exchange or swap their own apartment and choose an alternative destination
and time of year from over 5,000 + resorts in approx 92 countries worldwide.
We have a selection of low cost weeks which would be perfect as a gateway
into the timeshare exchange system.
Once you own your timeshare apartment, you can become a member of RCI,
Dial an Exchange, UK Resort Exchange or Interval International. They can offer you a change of
destination, or time of year.
All three organisation's work in
similar ways . Dial an
Exchange are the most flexible - offering 3 years for bankings,
they have lower costs and do not restrict exchanges to season bandings - a week is a
week regardless of when it is. UK Resort exchange offer an
indefinite banking life and are the only company that can GUARANTEE UK time
for UK time. They also offer a worldwide service and travel
arrangements.
With Dial an
Exchange you make a request before needing to deposit your week ,
however with RCI & Interval you have to deposit a week of
timeshare first in order to request an exchange. Depositing your
week is known as 'banking' or space-banking', you are credited
with the equivalent time to use for exchange, regardless of whether
anyone takes up your week. You
can bank your week without requesting an exchange if you know that
you will not be using your home resort. With Dial an Exchange you
have 3 years to make an exchange against your banking credit with
RCI & interval 2 years.
With RCI and interval, the year is divided into 3 seasons, Low - Mid - High, and you exchange
like for like, as all resorts have to be high quality to be affiliated to
RCI, you then trade your apartment for an equivalent size, and if you own
mid season you choose mid or low, or if you own high season you can choose
from all 12 months of the year! Dial an Exchange do not
recognise these season barriers instead a week is a week and so you can
swap any timeshare week owned for any week of the year - there are no
restrictions.
You can also let friends or family use your banking's by way of
a guest certificate.
All of the timeshare
exchange companies also offer additional bonus weeks, which are
extra holidays on top of your owned timeshare. RCI also
offer late
breaks and the exchange packages - which offer all the benefits of a
package holiday (flights, transfers, car hire) yet still retain the luxury
accommodation of timeshare.
